Teaching, publications & speaking
I give back by sharing my experience in formal and informal settings.
From my first opportunity to teach design at the college level, I became hooked. I am passionate about sharing my professional knowledge with students and thrive off the fresh perspective they bring to their work. I expand on the larger themes in my work and expertise through writing and speaking engagements.
AIGA Decipher Conference
My role: Conference speaker, author
My paper "Teaching, Doing and Disseminating Design Research: IBM Incubator," was accepted to the Design Educator’s AIGA Decipher Conference in 2018. The paper and talk covered case studies from the IBM Incubator program, where I led teams of early professionals on projects in 2016–2017.
I devised a workshop activity for a portion of my time to drive dialog and provide a more interactive experience for session participants.
Final draft published by University of Michigan Press, 2019.
